Traditionally, carton lids have been sealed using resin-based adhesives. However, this method has involved various challenges, including the high cost of hot-melt systems, ongoing adhesive running costs, increased electricity consumption due to heaters, complex maintenance requirements, nozzle clogging caused by carbonized adhesive, and issues such as incomplete or pseudo bonding.
To address these issues, we have developed a cartoner compatible with the “Lock Carton” system developed by Marukin Printing Co., Ltd.With this system, the carton lid and body are completely locked together, causing the carton to break upon opening. This provides effective tamper evidence while simultaneously eliminating the challenges associated with hot-melt adhesive sealing. In addition, the system supports recent SDGs initiatives and environmentally conscious packaging.
